About Ramayan Press :

It was British Rule in India, when a revolutionary at heart hailing from a small village of central India wrote a few poetry books and folk songs to enlighten Indian population to wake-up and fight against British rule.

Encouraging Chants and poetry written by ‘Shaidaji’ created a furor among British officials and subsequently those books ‘Khooni Pistol’ ‘Gandhiji Ki Barahmasi’ and ‘Rashtriya Geet’ were banned by the British Government and arrest orders were issued against the poet. However, he could never be arrested.

After a pause the same poet “Banshi Dhar Shaida” took-up the cause of Hindu religion and vowed that each and every Hindu must be in position to read the ‘Valmik Ramayan’ the most regarded and sacred epic of Hindus, which was available in Sanskrit only. He sacrificed the public life, moved in a jungle and started translation the ‘Valmik Ramayan’ in simple Hindi in “Doha &  Chaupayee” living in a make-shift hut under a huge Banyan tree. It took little less than 14 years to complete the gigantic task living in a complete isolation from the world outside. During this period, he befriended all the beasts of region, but they never hurt him.

After completing the task, he came out to the nearest town ‘Farrukhabad’ and established a printing press, christened it “Shri Ramayan Press”. The process of printing the FIRST publication took three years which was ‘Valmik Ramayan’ in 1942. It was truly a task by itself printing a 2000 pages book during that era. ‘Shaidaji’ took-up the task of translating “Bhagwat Darpan” from Sanskrit to Hindi in ‘Doha Chaupayee’ exactly as Valmik Ramayan and stunningly accomplished within 18 days.

Having achieved these milestones, he received thundering acclamation from all the religious platforms across the country, and these books were also high in demand from Indians living in Fiji, Bahrain, Malaysia and Canada etc. Each month a book on Hindu religion was being added to the inventory of “Shri Ramayan Press” i.e. ‘Durga Shaptasati’, ‘Mahabharat’, ‘Prem Sagar’ where more than 100 books were penned down and published by ‘Shaidaji’.

Presently “Shri Ramayan Press” is one amongst the large publisher of Hindu religious books in India.
